The v-btn component replaces the standard html button with a material design theme and a multitude of options. Any color helper class can be used to alter the background or text color. Buttons in their simplest form contain uppercase text, a slight elevation, hover effect, and a ripple effect on click. Normally components use the dark prop to denote that they have a dark colored background and need their text to be white.

Ignore the top padding, we'll fix that in the next video, but we've got a button, it's clickable, and it's got a nice background. Let's jump in and work out how to do it. Spoiler alert, it's just an A-tag with some padding, but let's do it together anyway. To make our button, what you might be really inclined to do, is figure out where we're going to put it. I want to put it just after this P-tag here. So there it is there, Hero Box1, here's my P-tag. So just afterwards I'm going to put in, what sounds sensible, there's a button.
I'm going to close it down. So I made it, closed it, and I'm going to link to it now. So what do we call it? Test Page. So it's actually going somewhere. What is this button going to do? Do I want it upper case? So we're using title case, and that's what it looks like in the browser. You're like, "How is that much better than the actual ugly button? Let's go and do those basics, it depends on whether you went and-- remember, earlier on we styled our A-tag potentially in the Head or in the CSS, and we called it the CSS Reset.
That would have been handy, but I didn't, so I'm going to say, actually I'm not going to be really specific, I'm going to be quite broad. I'm going to say, all A-tags up here-- Why is it at the top? Because I feel like it's a really broad stroke, so it should be at the top.
I'm going to say, all A-tags now need to have a color of white. This is probably going to come back and bite us in the bum. Always seems to happen when I do freestyle like this. Color, and we're going to say, the Text Decoration is set to 'none'. So that's going to get us started, hopefully, there you go. Nothing's really going on. Let's give it a background color, and color the text. So in here we're going to, well actually what we might do is we'll start creating our own Class, because I'm going to-- we're not going to style all A-tags to be buttons, right?
So what I'm going to do is, just after the quotation marks here, I'm going to give it a Class name of 'My Button'. Over here I'm going to say, My Button does a few things. That is totally useless now, right? Can we get rid of it? We can, because I said, all A-tags be white with no Text Decoration. Let's have a quick little check and make sure we haven't wrecked anything. Yep, perfect. So My Button needs a period in front of it, and we are going to say to this button, I want a background color.
If you've just left this off thinking you'll come back to that later on, because it can't be seen or there's no things to wrap around, it needs some sort of text in the A-tag. The other thing, it might be, depending on where you're watching this, we'll not actually deal with it in the next video, but if yours still won't appear, and you're kind of stuck there, you might have to do a Display:Inline-block or Display:block. We're going to talk about this in the next one, but, that might be causing you problems as well.
So I'm going to go steal it. The reason I can't remember, like I could probably guess Playfair, but I can never remember if it's in two words or one word, and remember, if it's in two words it gets these quotations around it.
It will assume if there's two, you mean x and y for the first one, sorry, up and down for the first one, and left and right for the second one; that should work. Here we go. Now we need a little bit of margin above it, but this is not going to work, and we'll talk about it more in the next video. So Margin-top is going to have 10 pixels. I know you're going to try it, and it's not going to work. Drove me made as well when I first, when I was working, what that did.

A call to action button is an important element of an effective email. But how can we make sure everyone receives the button the way you want? People tend to use images, a rookie mistake because people can turn their images off. There are two major problems when creating a HTML button for email. Most of the time when people create a button they will either use a border or a padding.

How to Add a Hamburger Menu in WordPress? (6 Easy Step Guide)
Hamburger menu… The name might make you hungry, but it has nothing to do with food. If you use a mobile device or spend time on the internet browsing different websites, you must have come across lots of sites using the hamburger menu button.
They are the navigation button with three lines that gives you access to other menu pages. Since the menu is the first of the few things that your visitors see when they land on your homepage, it is important to keep your webpage clean. The hamburger menu is an efficient way to put navigation options into a smaller space keeping the interface clutter-free.
A hamburger menu or a hamburger icon is a navigation button that opens to a side menu or navigation drawer. It is a navigation element that you can easily find on various websites, apps, and programs. Its delicious and mouth-watering name comes from its design. Since a hamburger menu button comprises three horizontal lines, it resembles a hamburger. A hamburger menu button helps your website layouts look cleaner and easier to navigate while taking less space.
It is usually placed in the top corner of the interface. The main purpose of the hamburger menu button is to save screen space by hiding navigational elements. The most common and the most popular reason why the hamburger menu is still in existence is that they take up less space. Since, while creating a website, it is a difficult task to provide all the information in a small amount of space, the hamburger menu is a savior.
Most users and designers prefer the minimalist design of a webpage. They prefer only the necessary elements required for the information and communication. A minimalist esthetic webpage offers more functionality and shows credibility. And that is where, a hamburger menu, a clean way for navigation, comes to play as it cuts down on how much visitors have to process when taking in your webpage at a glance.
But when you plan to add more pages and different categories to the website, figuring out how to show them all to the users without overwhelming them can be a design challenge. An overly messed up and complex webpage can end up distracting users from the main purpose. A hamburger menu makes sure that a user finds the full list of categories while keeping the design of the webpage clean and paying attention to the product you want them to focus on. A hamburger menu has been found everywhere from apps to websites to programs.
The hamburger menu is secondary access, removing distractions without losing functionality. Responsive Menu is an amazing WordPress plugin, which is also your one-stop destination with all the features you need to create a beautiful WordPress Responsive Hamburger Menu.

That little three-lined button is the devil. Whether you call it a side menu, navigation drawer, or a hamburger, hiding your features off-screen behind a nondescript icon in the corner is usually a poor mobile design choice. Any navigation options you hide behind the hamburger will be forgotten, or at least used a lot less. The tab bar is a row of persistently visible buttons typically at the bottom of the screen that open different parts of the app. Instead of hiding the navigation options in a drawer, you splay them out. Six months ago zeebox tried switching from a tab bar to a hamburger, and saw its metrics drop.

How to Set HTML Lists Bullet Color Using CSS?
Setting the content-type is the most important factor connected to how email clients display text that includes special characters, including non-Latin-based languages such as those spoken in Asia as well as Hebrew, Arabic, and Greek.
But email developers can also take matters into their own hands when it makes sense. Character encoding is the process of writing or coding specific symbols in HTML so they appear as intended regardless of the device, web browser, or email client.
When placed in the code, the entity produces the symbol or character. These entities always begin with an ampersand and end with a semicolon.
When an email client sees the character set UTF-8 defined in the head, it knows how to interpret characters throughout the message. Setting content-type and defining a character set is important for the readability and accessibility of your emails. It ensures nothing breaks the reading pattern for a subscriber, whether the subscriber is reading the email herself or using a screen reader with emails. With the click of a button, the platform makes sure the right code is added to the email header.
Another reason to exclusively use UTF-8 for email encoding is that it is widely supported by major email clients. Nearly every page on the internet uses UTF-8 for encoding as do email clients. We ran tests to see what clients did when the content-type was specified in the header and found that Gmail was the only outlier. No matter what was designated in the email header, Gmail is the only client that automatically converts your text to UTF One interesting action we noticed: The web-based clients convert your text to the content-type character set before displaying it in a web browser.
This is the kind of help we dream about. Thanks for this helpful and informative explanation of the real deal. Please investigate. Great piece of info! Love this explanation. Thanks for this article. Do you have an idea how we can still read it? EoA Character Encoder is not the best tool. Ideally, in a shape of NPM package which I can use in Gulp, with optional front end, driven by browserified version of it. Another important point is, encoded entities should be named, not numeric, so you could read them. One recipient gets mail at sbcglobal. Do you know how that would handle content type? It does character conversion for you inserts entities.
The content type is set within HTML template in the meta like for a web page; I believe this is for a web version of the email and when building an email this I believe is for the email header as you must set it regardless the meta in the template.
This still depends on the tool you use — there is no point in setting anything else but the UTF How can one statement be a solution for all in multiparts?

Character encoding is the process of writing or coding specific symbols in HTML so they appear as intended regardless of the device, web browser, or email client. Each of those characters is represented by a piece of code that is used as a key to reproduce the character on a screen. You can do this by showcasing its best features, upfront, and teach them how to utilize the app to its fullest capacity. To take onboarding a step further, consider adding an interactive experience that will allow users to have more fun with the app as they go.
Similar to onboarding, the user profile is a necessity for most apps. It requires the user to give their name, payment details, social media links, actions in the app, and so on. So, what makes the user profile design in fitness apps different from others? Fitness apps ask for unique data that is not often found in other apps.
We mean details like age, height, weight, gender, etc. These parameters matter significantly in fitness apps and help users set realistic goals. The home screen is the main hub of your app.
And there are many ways to organize a home screen. You can display several features to choose from, the entire navigation menu, or just one option — it all depends on what your app offers. User statistics and checking progress are valuable elements of any fitness app, especially with activity tracking ones.
The main point of visualizing data is to simplify its understanding for the users. Cluttering too many components will only bring more confusion. Suppose your app includes a set of workouts, recipes, meditations, or other useful resources. Imagine yourself as the user of a fitness app, perhaps a yoga one. However, if the practices are divided into three levels of difficulty and sorted according to the focus of the routine — be it muscle strength or flexibility — choosing a lesson will be much easier.
It is about giving users the best experience possible by ensuring their interaction with the app is smooth and easy. One incredible feature to consider when designing your app is an app community, which is becoming more desirable every day. Building communities around fitness apps can help users stay motivated and inspired to continue their fitness journey when it gets challenging — which is pretty common.
Adding gamification to fitness apps is in no way obligatory, only a way to bring more interaction while having a blast. Gamification usually comes as a separate game element for apps. However, there are fitness ones like Zombies Run that are fully based on a gaming experience as their motivational tool. Common ways to integrate gamification into your fitness mobile app design include adding challenges, badges, achievements, leader boards, and so much more.

How to Set the Right Design Goals for Your App
In a world where everyone accesses the internet through vastly different means, UX designers are faced with a steep challenge: how can they create consistent, user-friendly experiences across multiple devices? In some ways, the ideal UX approach would be to design each experience specifically for the intended device. The goal, instead, is to design an experience that your user can understand and interact with on any device. How do UX designers bring the technical considerations and browsing habits of their users together to create their designs? The first question the app development team needs to answer is an obvious one: do we even need cross-platform design? If, for example, you need an internal app for use in a company where every employee uses a specific device, cross-platform functionality is an unnecessary burden. This is where a UX researcher will begin to create research questions for users. These questions will help you decide on the platforms you do want to launch on.

This article introduces a workflow that can help teams, products, startups and companies create a robust and meaningful process for developing a better user experience for their customers. You could use different parts of the process separately but they ideally work best as a series of steps. This guide borrows heavily from the Design Sprint methodology that multiple teams across Google use to troubleshoot and solve challenges such as the Self Driving Car and Project Loon. This flow work is based on what we in UX circles call the double diamond, made popular by the British Design Council , where your team diverges to understand an idea through research and then converges to define the challenge, diverges to sketch it individually, share the ideas, decide on what the best way forward is, test and validate. The challenge statement is the brief you are setting for the project that includes your goal. This challenge could be for an existing product feature that needs to be refined or a completely new product altogether. Whatever your task may be, simply adjust the language to fit the goal you are trying to achieve.
