EdTalk on How AI Chatbots and Mobile Apps Improve Student Experience and Create Campus Efficiency

Smartphones, laptops, tablets, mobile devices are here to stay. Many educational institutions support web portals and mobile apps to improve student service, but student demands and expectations mean these online tools have to be smarter and usable. Mobile apps and AI chatbots are evolving and more frequently used together. Students expect intuitive engagement and personalization from mobile apps, similar to what they experience with banking, healthcare, retail and social apps. This EdTalk focused on how two schools who used mobile apps and chatbots to improve student experience, service and support and created efficiency in a time of limited resources.

About the Panelists:

Ron Kishen: He leads USciences Online developing online courses and bringing the excellent education delivered on campus to students everywhere. Kishen is an accomplished businessman with vast experience in online education, having worked as senior vice president at University of Phoenix and Kaplan University.

Ellen Rayz: She is the Associate Vice-Chancellor and Chief Technology Officer Information Technology Services at City College of San Francisco. Rayz has more than 25 years of information technology (IT) experience in the public and private sectors, including roles at City College of San Francisco, UC San Francisco and Oracle. At SF State she has led a number of critical infrastructure projects across campus, such as WiFi augmentation, next generation firewall, common network infrastructure and the virtual private network upgrade.
