The edition of MidCamp is over, but our team left Chicago with a lot of great advice, fresh perspectives, new connections and good vibes.
In what is now the 6th year of its existence, this annual spring conference heralds the coming of spring and the national DrupalCon in April. Midcamp is the Chicago-based version of a regional Drupal conference.
While several members of Electric Citizen attended Midcamp for years, along with a number of our Minneapolis colleagues, this was my first time attending, and it was a blast. From there, things divided up into several tracks of sessions, starting Thursday and continuing to end-of-day Friday. Content from all of these sessions is available online, simply by visiting each session page, or the Midcamp YouTube channel.
The evenings were filled with some great socializing at neighborhood bars, one fantastic game night on campus, and of course, several nights of Drupal Karaoke!

I work hard to make TEN7 a great place to work. When I first started the company, my attention was focused on the clients and the work. I thought I was doing an okay job on the HR end of things. I thought we had an inviting office space back when we had an office. One day, I got a wakeup call. I sat down to a meeting with an employee whom I had mentored for years, and came to find out that it was no meeting—this was a resignation! I should have seen the sign: hastily scheduled 4 pm meeting on a Friday. We were a small company—only four employees—and no group insurance plan was affordable for us at all. Florida DrupalCamp finally arrives this weekend, February ! Commerce Guys is a Gold sponsor this year, and I will be heading down to the conference to talk about Reporting in Drupal Commerce. With Drupal Commerce 2. As Bojan highlighted in our year in review blog post , we have now ported many essential modules and pushed for them to achieve stable releases. With 55 payment gateways, shipping support, and work on recurring payments in progress, we've identified reporting as our next major initiative.

Web development is best accomplished when working together with peers. Lucky for us, Atlanta has a ton of great user groups around town to keep up-to-date with the latest trends, and there are many larger conference events hosted throughout the southeast and the rest of the country. Due to the unusual circumstances of the current era, many conferences are still online only, though some are returning with in-person or hybrid formats. Known updates have been posted below, but always check a conference's website for the latest details. Markup, style, code, typography, SEO, e-commerce, Web apps, and social networking are all valid topics here. We aim to provide a place for Web professionals to meet new people, exchange ideas, learn new things, and have a little fun. We have several events each month: one for learning, and happy hours all over the metro area for socializing. Build Guild Atlanta is a monthly gathering for web folks that enjoy chatting over drinks.
Every year community members from across the globe meet in Orlando for Florida Drupal Camp. This year Adam, Ryan, and Jonathan from Hook 42 attended. It was a fantastic time to connect with people, to learn, and enjoy some warmer weather. Plus, alligators!
