The text is painfully repetitive and dumbed-down, often stating the downright obvious, as in the case of the section on image layouts portrait vs landscape. I have previous experience of HTML from about ten years ago and bought this book as a way to get up to speed with the latest standards. I struggled with it, page after page, but found its style too simplistic and impractical to look back at for a quick reminder.
If you want to learn this subject, I recommend looking elsewhere. The "Missing Manual" series would be a good place to start. I'm tempted to give it just one star, but that would be cruel after all the snazzy artwork design that has gone into it. This is by far one of the best references for html and css you will ever have as not only is it easy to read and printed on friendly brown pages that don't blind you every time you walk into the sunlight.
This book will have you writing your own websites in no time at all. I bought book from this website. The book is definitely unique in great ways. I have bough ALOT of technical books before and this is the first book that have magazine quality pages. And dont get me wrong here, it too have a very straight forward teaching, yet very concise on what it's talking about.
